Hello,
In earlier posts I have asked if there is Tulla volunteer who could meet us one of these days and show us local places of family interest. We have three families in Tulla:
Patrick McMahon of Kiltannon townland who married Mary Meehan of Tulla on 19 July 1860 in Tulla. Witnesses were Anne Meehan ( Of Quin) and John Lucas ( of Tulla). They had 3 children: John ( 1861), Mary (1862) and Catherine (1864). On Catherine's birth registration it says Patrick had recently gone to Queensland. We do not know what happend to John ( perhaps died ( 1869), but wife and two daughters emiograted to New Zealand. On the Griffiths Valuation a Patrick McMahon lived on Market St. near Fair Hill,
James Meehan and Nelly Kelly no details other than the birth of their daughter Mary Meehan ,christened 16 May 1832 in Tulla.Sponsor was Biddy Boyce. I have not found a marriage in Tulla for this couple, but they may have lived in Inchcronan, where a James Meehan was on the Griffiths Valuation in 1855 a James Meehan on 1824 Tithe Applotment in Fahy Beg townland of Killaloe parish.
It would be lovely to have a local person to assist us for a few hours on one of these days.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
