I am looking for information about my Great Grandmother, Mary McCarthy and Great Grandfather, Michael Deasy who were married in the chapel of Barryroe in the registrar's district of Timoleague on the 29th February 1876. Mary's father was a farmer known as Cab McCarthy probably near Lislevane and Michael's father, Jeremiah Deasy was also a farmer at a place called Carhergall. I have no detail of Mary's mother (my great, great grandmother) so if anyone out there has any knowledge or history of either of these families I would be really glad to have some information to help with my research. • A Margaret Deasy was godparent to one of my 3rd great grandparents children.  The 3rd great grandparents were jeremiah Neil and Ellen Mahony/Scimillihane.  Their children were born in Cullenagh, Parish Lislee in the 1840s.  There may be a McCarthy connection but I haven't got that figured out. This isn't very helpful, I know.
