“When Daniel came to the colony he worked at Doyle’s vineyard and lived at Kaludah in the NSW Lower Hunter Valley. The Drinans, O’Connells and Bowens were related. Daniel had a real Irish brogue and a ‘billy goat beard’. He was always reminiscing about Ireland.
