John Sullivan and Hannah Callaghan of Courtbrack and Knocknasuff, Blarney, Cork

Greetings, Seeking cousins/descendents of John Sullivan and Hannah Callaghan of Courtbrack and Knocknasuff, Blarney, Cork. Ultimately would like to visit sites where they lived and their forebears are buried.

John Sullivan baptised 2 Jan 1852 in Ballinvarig to John Sullivan and Abigail Kiley.  Hannah Callaghan father Daniel Callaghan on her marriage record.  Shipping manifest from 1920 to Boston said she was born in Donoughmore. Record for baptism on 18 Sept 1860 of Hannah to Daniel Callaghan and Joney Denahy found with address of Ahadillane. Daniel & Johana married 11 Jan 1852 in Donaghmore, Cork.

John & Hannah married 23 Jan 1883 with address of Garrycloyne as witnessed by Timothy Sullivan and Mary Healy.

Their children were:

John born 1883 in Blarney Village.

Abina born Dec 1886. amily address Knocknasuve/Knocknasuff witnessed by Abina Sullivan of Knockacorbally (this Abina Sullivan likely daughter born 1877 of Patrick & Kate of Knocknasuff 1901 census).  Abina emigrated in 1907 and married John Kelleher  in 1916 in Cambridge, MA. 3 of 6 boys born survived. She died in Cambridge, MA in January 1928. Descendants in California.

Hannah born Nov 1889.

Daniel born Sept 1892. Married Hannah Mullane in 1916 in Cambridge, MA.

Ellen/Nellie born 5 Apr 1896. Married William John O'Brien in 1918 in Cambridge, MA. Eight children.  Died in Dorchester, Boston, MA in 1984. Descendants in MA & FL.

Michael born approximated 1901. Appears on 1911 census as 10yo. 

Abina, Daniel & Nellie were all married by same clergyman, John Butler, in Cambridge.

John Sullivan died in Cambridge, MA on April 1, 1915. His parents indicated as John Sullivan and Abigail Kiley.  Hannah (Callaghan) Sullivan died 1943 in Cambridge. John's DC indicates his parents as John Sullivan & Abina Kiley. Hannah born September 1860 in Donoughmore to Daniel Callaghan. See attachment for addresses in Aghadullane, Richill, Gurrane.

John Kelliher and Abbie were my great grandparents. John's parents were Patrick Kelleher and Mary Lyons of Beenalaght.

We have some photos, some of which are identified, of Abbie, Nellie and cousins of names Desmond, Burrel, Healy, Callaghan and Heritz.

UPDATE 4 April 2016:

Death Certificate for John Sullivan 1852-1915 gave parents' names of John Sullivan and Abigail Kiley. Rootsireland record for these parents gave JS's bday in 1852 with Ballinvarig address. Scouring Catholic registers for Blarney/Whitechurch resulted in about 4 John Sullivans born circa 1826-1832 and 1 Abigail Keily baptised 12 Feb 1830 to Mick Keily and Mary Connell with siblings Tim born 1832 and Pat born 1834.

"Donoughmore and All Around" lists family of Michael O'Sullivan of Dromahane (stones 82-88 on pg 135-136). Book says this family was originally from Knocknasuff.  Would love to find out if this Michael was a brother or relative of my GGGF John Sullivan 1852-1915. Henchion indicates living descendents of Michael O'Sullivan including Eamon O'Sullivan of Kilquane, George O'Sullivan of Knocknasuff and Mrs. Brennan of Carrigacleena.
