Pauline and Peter:
I'm confused about Nellie Gertrude O'Brien. Was she the mother in law or wife of the Vernon Creedon born in 1894? Also, who is Margaret Hartigan?
I did find a 1901 census record for the Charles O'Brien mentioned in your note.

Dear Pauline and Peter,
My name is Anne Marie and I am the parish liaison for Churchtown North cork
The Creedon family lived in a townland in Churchtown called Ballynaboul, Patrick Creedon the head of the family was born in England and a farmer , quit possible in Churchtown , their son Vernon was born abt 1893 in England, Betram another son was also born in England in 1895. By 1911 Patrick was already widowed, it looks like the family arrived back in Churchtown between 1901 and 1911
The address in 1911 was house nr.3 Ballynaboul, in 1901 the same house was occupied by a Daniel Corkery a general laborer aged 72 and his wife Kate age 70.
In 1914 a Vernon Creedon was listed in Guy's Postal Directory as a landholder
At the main entrance of our church there is a holy water font that was presented to the church by a Mrs & Mrs David Creedon a long time ago
Neither the 1823 Tithe Applotment books or the Griffiths Valuation 1845-1864 have the Creedons listed in Churchtown.
I will see what I can find for you , in the meantime please have a look around on our Churchtown Facebook page with many local members who would love to share information with you
There are several members with connections to the O'Briens from Churchtown the page even has some old pictures from the O'Brien family

Thankyou Roger for your reply,
Nellie Gertrude O'Brien was Vernon Creedon's grandmother
Patrick Cornelius Creedon b1863 cork ireland m Nelly Gertrude O'Brien b1873 ireland
children 1. Vernon Clare Creedon b1894 Liverpool england m 1919 cork ireland Margaret Hartigan b1900 cork Ireland(Margaret Hartigan parents are Luke Hartgigan b1855 d 1936 Kilmallock and Margaret Conway b1861 d1900 (very soon after daughter Margaret Hartigan was born) and were married in Limerick 1894 ) 2. Bertram Orlando Creedon b1896 Liverpool england (Vernon, Margaret and Bertram migrated to Australia in 1925)
Nellie O'Brien b1873 (All I know of her is that she appears on the 1901 England Census as the wife of Cornelius Creedon (on the census she is Velly Creedon transcribing error I think) Nelly is on the birth certificate of Vernon Creedon and her birth is Ireland. Then I have an Irish Census of 1911 where Patrick Creedon b1862 with children Vernon b1893 and Bertram b1895 were in house 3 in Ballynaboul churchtown cork his marital status was widower 2 children living 3 born I am asuming the possibility of Nellies beath being associated with the 3 child. (her parents are possibly John O'brien and Kate O'Connell this I have not confirmed.)
Roger can you tell me how the records in Cork are held, if you were after a birth, death or baptisimal document do you apply to the church or where? As I am in Sydney Aust all our major documents are held in the states Births Deaths & Marriages, you can obtain some records from individual churches, I'm not very clear on how Cork records are held?
Have a lovely day

Hi all,
My great grandmother was Hannah Creedon B1852, who married Richard Fitzgerald B1844 in 1873. They went on to have 19 children.
I came and stayed with Mary O'Brien with my parents some years ago and we did a lot of research. We visited the church and I'm sure that I found out that Hannah's mum Kate was formerly a Fitzgerald but now I can't get confirmation. I know one of her brothers was David but I am really struggling with the Creedon side.
I wondered if you can help or point me in the right direction please?
Kind regards Anna Gray

Hello Pauline,
I have recently found this website and your message. Nelly O'Brien and my great grandmother Hannah O'Brien were sisters. I have some information on Vernon Creedon, happy to share - I see it was 2013 that you posted so maybe you have found the information that you need, but please let me know if I can help. It would seem that your husband and I are likely cousins.
Anna, equally happy to share with you any information that I have, although it is mainly on the O'Brien side rather than the Creedon side.
Best wishes,
Cathal O'Donnell.

Hello all
Nellie Creedon nee O'Brien and my great-grandfather, Daniel O'Brien were siblings, children of Charles O'Brien and Ellen nee Costello. They lived at Ballygrace near Churchtown.
In collaboration with Cathal O'Donnell (above), whose mother is my third cousin, I have traced both the O'Brien and Creedon lines in Ireland, England and Australia. My great-grandfather Daniel went to London c1860 and one of his sons, Percy emigrated to Western Australia in 1912.
I'd be happy to share information with any other relatives.
