No one knows for sure where my great great grandfather came from, we just know he was Irish. He had an Irish accent and always wore a Green Coat. However, Timotheos (Timothy) Cream has his birthplace on his daughters baptism certificate as Churchtown Cork in 1822. He is recorded as marrying Mary Cussen (Cushen/Cushion) in Marleybone, Middlesex, England Feb 12 1846. His daughter Ellen was also born in England on Nov 16 1847. A Son Daniel was born in Manchester  on May 14 1849 and died on Aug 20 1849. Tim Cream sailed to Western Australia with his wife and daughter as new settlers on the ship "Sophia" in 1850. His parents may have been Daniel Cream Born 1798 and Mary Cream Born 1803.

Children of Timothy and Mary Born in Western Australia were:

1850 Dec 28      Mary Anne Cream

1853 May 14      Daniel Cream

1856 June 20      Timothy Cream

1858 Dec 15        John Cream

1861 May 30        William Cream

1864 Jan 2           Alfred George Cream

Timothy Cream went to Greenough in the Midwest of Western Australia as a labourer. He was also a builder  and stone mason and helped build the first jail in the Fremantle Port of WA. He also built the first Courthouse in Geraldton WA. He settled the Property known as Rudd's Gully in Greenough Western Australia and was a farmer and Horseman. His sons were well known in the District for training and racinfg Horses.

Tim died aged 40yrs after falling from a horse in 1863. His wife Mary remarried James Smith in 1867 and had 7 more children.

If anyone can confirm any information that leads back to Timothy Cream or his parents Daniel and Mary Cream in Churchtown , Co Cork I would be very appreciative.

Thank you,

Tanya Cream

  • Hi Tanya

My name is Anne Marie and I am the parish liaison for Churchtown North Cork.

I have checked the Churchtown North Cork  records but could not locate a Cream family in the area, be aware that there is a second Churchtown  called Churchtown South near Ballycotton on the south coast of Ireland. I have checked www.irishgenealogy.ie for records in that area but with no luck. I have also tried the name Crean what is a very common name in South Cork
