Hello,

I am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction as to find out who would have the Grave Records for the Old Graveyard in Clondrohid.  I recently traced my Aunts final resting place and her death certificate reveiled she was buried in Clondrohid graveyard on & arounds 30th April 1935.  Would anyone in Clondrohid have a listing of the layout of the graves or any detailed knowledge of the Old Graveyard.  I also believe the same grave was used for an infants death over 30 years ago also as it is an old family grave .

Thanks

Jerry

  • Dear Jerry

Unfortunately we don?t have a volunteer in Clondrohid.

You can contact the parish office here, the PP will be able to direct you further. He doesn't seem to have an email address:

  • Hi Jerry,

Clondrohid Burial records only start in the 1970s as previous registers were destroyed. However, O'Kief, Coshe, Mang has a list of headstone transcriptions from the 1960s. Do you think your aunt had a headstone? Or perhaps there is a family headstone there? Could you let me know the name of your aunt who died in 1935. I might be able to help.

  • Hi Margaret

Thanks so much for the reply.  My Aunt is Nora Casey nee O'Connor, died 28th April 1935 in Fermoy Hospital.  She lived in Dromahane Mallow.  Mass on the day of her funeral was in Kilpadder Church then burial in Clondrohid. We know from the Examinier Archives all this information as her death was posted in the paper when she died.  We have checked all the Headstones in the graveyard but they are in such poor condition it is hard to read or find anything.  If you can find out anything it would be most appreciated as we would like to acknowledge her final resting place.  Thanks Jerry.

I'm searching for my Grandfather's grave. It may be in Clondroiched Cemetery.

How does one gain access to these records ?

The link tells me I'm Banned ????

  • Hi Denis

You should be able to get into the Kerry Burials without any issue - perhaps Google it and click on the link that way

    Best wishes

  • I've only just today discovered that my Granndmother and Grandfather  are buried in Clondrichid. She died in February 1928. He died in June 1955. Similarly to Jerryo60 above, I'm not able to determine what plot they are in.

They were Denis Mahony and Ellen Mahony (Ni Healy)   from Ballinagree.

I would like any help you can provide.  Who manages the sites there currently ?  There were some stones erected (or inscriptin added to in 2006). Therefore I deduce  someone must know the plot layout ?  Or would they rely solely on the existing inscripted stone to determine a proper plot reference ?

I went there recently before knowing for certain that my grandparents were buried there and many of the older stones were unreadable.  I will return soon to look again.

  • Hi Denis

I believe that Clondrohid burial records only begin in the 1970s and that earlier registers no longer exist. I did find a site that had some images but couldn't see any relevant to your search:

    http://86.45.71.36:280/XTRA/Clondrohid%20old/Clondrohid%20Old%20Cemeter…

There is a list online of Caretakers/Registrars with contact numbers who may able able to give you a definitive answer:
