Perhaps you could try looking in church records to see if you can find some link between the Luceys. You may find a common ancestor or maybe a one of them acted as a sponsor for another's child if they were related etc.

Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available.                May I ask you did you send a letter to a Mr.Micheal Lucey in Clondrohid asking him a about a fram.Because he got a letter from Australia and I was just wondering was it you because ha got one a bit ago and I could ask him any Questions you like if you want.

Sorry about the long delay. To answer your question, yes, I did write some time ago, in fact it was my wife who wrote the letter. Since then we have visited a Mary Kate (Catherine) Lucey of Kilgobnet a few weeks ago while we were visiting Ireland. IT happened to be the lady's 95th birthday the day we visited and so we were invited to join in the celebration. I am now trying to sort out where the connection comes in. I need to know who Mary Kate's fathr and grandfather were, their full names and date of birth. Mary Kate said that Cornelius Lucey of Bawnatanaknock (at Cahireen where the Creedons now live) was cousin but I am not sure to whom he was a cousin. So that is why I am now asking Mary Kate for the info. Meanwhile, please write again if you wish.

is very helpful too - search and when viewing each record a link to the Parish Register is presented towards the bottom of the page.

Attention Jackie Luasa

Thank you for your recent message. When I visited Kate Lucey at Kilgobnet, one of her daughters (a school teacher) gave me her email address but I have not received any reply. Maybe my email went to her junk mail?? Anyway, I would dearly like to know Kate's father's full name and date and place of birth, and her grandfather's full name, date and place of birth. It seems that Kate was a LUCEY before marriage and her late husband (Lucey) came from Ballyvourney (I think). But it's Kate's connections through her paternal side that I am very interested in. I need her side to see if I can make the connection with Kilgobnet and Bawnatanaknock (Cahireen now owned by Timothy Creedon). If you can helpo me I would be eternally grateful. Hope to hear from you again soon.

             I was able to get some info about it,Her faters name was Con Lucey he was born in 1884,her grandfaters name was Patsy Lucey she can't remenber when he was born but she thinks it was 1907 when he died and he might have been around the age of 52.I hope this can help you.
