Benjamin Merrick

Looking for more information on Benjamin Merrick (b.abt 1820) in Cork and Ross Parish.  Married Sarah Jordan abt 1840.  Their children Matilda (1842) , Elizabeth (1844), and Benjamin Edward Merrick (1846) were born at Cloyne. According to family lore Benjamin (1820)  was a soldier that died at Cloyne about 1852. Would like information on how he died and when.  His mother Margaret Redmond Merrick also died in 1852 in Cloyne.  Widow Sarah became destitue and emigrated to Canada with her children to join her brother-in-law Robert Merrick.  Thanks for your interest.
