My g-grandfather Dennis O'Brien was born County Cork Ireland to JohnO'Brien & Mary Cusack c. 1833. His older brother, John, was born 1830.  Both came to Massachusetts in the mid 19th century.  I found a marriage record for John Brien & Mary Cusack 12 Nov. 1826, and a baptism for a sonJohn 1 May 1830 @ Ballymcotter RC Cloyne, Cork on rootsireland.ie, but no record for Dennis.  I posted a lengthy message with all details on the County Cork page on 10 April 2013, but I don't know how to find it, if anyone can, please read it & let me know if you can help me find these ancestors. Thanks

  • This is quite a longshot, but I've found what I think is the baptism record for my 3x great grandfather, Timothy Brien/ O'Brien, in Cloyne, Co Cork.  His father was John, and one of the witnesses is an Ellen Cusack.

Same surnames in the same area...

  • You should now follow up by checking Griffith's valuations and the 1901 census

  • Thanks,  I find many similar names in the area on Griffiths and 1901 &11 censuses, and have looked at church records posted @ NIL, but my Dennis remains elusive.  Have any of your Timothy"s descendants come to the US?
