I'm interested in learning more about Michael Erwin and Mary Upton, married January 11, 1837 in
Cloyne parish, Cork, and living outside Rochester, NY later that year.  The marriage witnesses were
Christopher Upton for the bride, presumably her father, and John Curtin for the groom.  There is a Cloyne birth record for a Mary Upton April 27 1811, with Christopher Upton named as father and Ann Sloane as mother.  Their home is listed as Ballycotton.  She would have been 26 years old.  Michael appears in the 1850 American census as forty years old but I haven't been able to trace his birh record.  Their children were Ann, Margaret, Cornelius, and Julia.  Any information gratefully received.

    Have you checked www.rootsireland.ie which has Baptism/marriages for Cork North East which covers your parishes of interest. Parish records are due to come on line in July from The National Library of Ireland.
    www.nationalarchives.ie has Census 1901/1911 also Tithe Applotment & Griffiths Valuation records. Several entries for a Christopher Upton on Griffiths.
    Upton families still reside in the area.
    The Gravestone Inscriptions of the Cathedral Cemetery of Cloyne has memorials for Upton including a Christopher (if you need details let me know.
