One hundred years after the scuttling of the Aud, for the very first time, the anchor from the Aud will be put on display in Cobh
The Aud has remained submerged in Cork Harbour since its scuttling by Captain Karl Spindler on April 22nd 1916. One hundred years later and for the very first time, an anchor from the Aud will be put on display in Cobh. Interpretational signage will also accompany this display, which will be officially opened on April 22nd at 18:30, being exactly 100 years since the Aud was scuttled. The ceremony will also honour the brave crew on board the Aud who risked their lives for the people of Ireland. All are welcome to this historic event which will also see the Cobh Animation Team present.
