I am researching the McGivern & Sullivan families that lived in this area in the 1800's. The McGiverns were farmers in Lissasunna & the Sullivans farmed in Knocknanuss. My direct ancestors are as follows: Patrick McGivern (abt 1821 - 1891) married 1857 at the Parish church in Desertserges, & Eliza Sullivan (about 1840 - ?).His Father is John McGivern & her father is Thomas Sullivan. I am keen to contact anyone with connections to these families. Cheers Alison

Also, have you heard of the two land acts pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. They do not give any genealogical information but can sometimes be used as a census substitute as there are no surviving full census records prior to 1901:
