I have been searching for my grandmothers family for years now and hope that I can finally find them.
Mary Collins born to Daniel Collins and Mary Cotter in 1861'
She came to Australia before 1881 as she then married john Lugg, in Mt Barker South Aust.in 1881
She is said to have one sister and brother Dennis. Who had a job of some kind in the Navy as he was said to have visited her in Sth Aust probably early 1900.
I would be very greatful if some one can shed some light on her for me. Mary

Hi
thank you for your message.
If you haven't already - you may try checking the availability of records for Dromtarriff -
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseact…
You may also try looking for the family on Griffith's Valuation (1848-64) http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/ or the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) https://familysearch.org/
Civil registration records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm
Valuations office in Dublin (http://www.valoff.ie) will have a record of the land registry from 1855 to modern times. This will assist in seeing what happened to any land the family may have owned.
Some sites that might be useful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
The National Archives UK ? genealogy search: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/
Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
