I am trying to find Mary Breen on behalf of a friend in New Zealand, who is very keen to speak to or correspond with her.

My friend could tell me only that Mary was living, or had lived, in Fermoy, County Cork.

    It might be best to contact the parish office at Fermoy, though due to data protection concerns they may not be able to give you the details even if they have them. They may however, be able to post a note in their weekly parish newsletter or similar:
