Hello,
My 2nd Great Grandfather is James Corcoran. He arrived in New York City about 1848, having come from Ireland. He married Elizabeth Martin (from Dublin) in 1952 at New York City when he was 32 years old. One of the winesses is Catherine Corcoran. My hypothesis is that she is James' sister. James and Elizabeth lived and raised their chidren in NYC. His work is recorded as "gardener" in one source. The only reference I have to his life in Ireland is his 1867 death annoucement in the New York Herald newspaper. It says, "James Corcoran, native of New Inn, Cork, Ireland ...".
I surmised that this is New Inn near Glanmire. I have looked through the parish baptismal registers that are available online from NLI. I did not find James. I found a family I believe to be his. They are Edward Corcoran and Honora Donahue, with documented children Bridgit, Mary, Margaret, Catherine, Michael, Honora, and Edward. The children's baptisms range from 1812-1832. All were baptized in Glanmire. Michael was born in New Inn.
If possible, I would like to find James' baptism record. I'd also like to confirm that I have the right family, if possible. I'd like to find out everything I can about this family in Cork. I am hoping there is someone reading this who may be able to help.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Mary,
afraid I have no good news for you but am attaching a list of 87 James Corcoran's baptised in Ireland between 1810 -1830 none of whom are from New Inn (I Think). I could find no record for James in New Inn, Glanmire or anywhere nearer than Cork City.
Sorry I can't help you more but if any of the listed James are relevant to any other information you may have, I will be happy to look again for you.
