Hello, I am hoping to find some confirmation that my 3rd Great Grandfather Daniel O'Hare was born in Ballyagholy in Kilbroney Parish. He was born about 1806 and moved to Liverpool where he worked as either a sailor or tailor where he died in 1864. Do you have any information in your records please? Thankyou Michelle ARAS

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for message.
Unfortunately, IrelandXO cannot provide access to records ? there is no central repository in Ireland for records. Most records are still held at a local level.
If you would like to look for Daniel?s birth record in Kilbroney parish it may be best to write to the parish priest for possible assistance.
A handy website for Roman Catholic records is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Kilbroney parish follow this link:
For information on Church of Ireland records check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/.
Have you tried looking for his birth record online? Some Irish church records are available online so you may be lucky and find Daniel?s:
www.familysearch.org Here is a huge database of records including some births and baptisms in Ireland
www.rootsireland.ie Also have a huge collection of Church records available. However you have o pay to use this site
It may also be an idea to contact the Ulster Historical Foundation for assistance-a fee may apply. Here are their contact details:
Ulster Historical Foundation,
49 Malone Road,
Belfast BT9 6RY
Northern Ireland.

I hope that this is helpful. Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
