Timothy Sullivan was a farmer in Kilcaskan. His death date in Ireland is 1846 and his wife Mary came to yhe US. Timothy and Mary had a daughter Norah Sullivan, born Decenber 24, 1840. I would like to find a marriage certificate for Timothy and Mary. Also their daughter, Norah married John Dennis Sullivan of the same parish. He was born Dec 26, 1832, His parents are Dennis and Norah Sullivan. I am trying to trace back their family as thy are related to me. I believe the relationship is through Mary Murphy wife of Timothy. Thank you

www.irishgenealogy.ie has the records for West Cork. I found the marriage record below. The baptismal records for Eyeries do not begin until 1843 which explains why I could not find a baptismal record. Here is a link to the register

What does N are mean?
-
NR means no record of where Mary lived. Timothy was from Keelcatrin.

I thought that might be what NR stood for. Woukd it be safe to assume that Mary Murphy was most likely from the same parish? Do you know tha average age for marriage? I could extrapolate a birth dat that way + or - 5 years

Normally marriages occurred in the bride's parish.

I thought as much since that is normally the way we do it in the US, but each culture can be different. I guess I won't see you in Ireland.
