My GrGf was Lawrence Daly. He immigrated to the US ca. 1830. He was born ca. 1803-1813 in Ireland; died in US in 1905. He was in Ohio by 1843.
James Daly (ca. 1800/01-1843), whom I believe to be Lawrence's older brother, was in Ohio by 1833 and may have immigrated around 1827-1830. James m. a woman from Vermont named Anna Marie UNKNOWN. He died in 1843, and Lawrence came to town to marry the widow Daly (his sister-in-law).
In 1859 Michael Daly immigrated to the US. He was born ca. 1832-1835. He died inCleveland, Ohio, USA in 1900. In 1870 he lived on land owned by Lawrence. I don't know how Michael and Lawrence were related. ( Michael married Catherine O'Rourke in 1861. She has come to US in 1860.)
James and wife had the following child: Rensellar (b. 1842) and (re-named "James" by Lawrence). Lawrence and the widow Daly had: Francis (1847---?), Lawrence (1848-1903), and they adopted a son and called him William H. (1856-1930). In 1860, Anne Maria dies.
Lawrence marrried my GrGm, Mary Anne Egan. She was born in Ireland, 18 Aug 1835. Her father's name was Patrick; mother's name not known. She immigrated in 1851 due to the famine. Lawrence and Mary Ann had the following children: Anne Marie (1863) and Mary Francis (twins), one of whom died, and they used the name Mary Francis (1866) for another girl. John Patrick (1869), James Franklin (1871), Timothy Aloysius and Thomas Alfred/Albert (twins b. 1873), and Bernard Joseph (1878).
Lawrence was a farmer his whole life in Ohio. Some of the sons were also. Although we used the name Francis quite a bit, I have found no Francis in the USA. There was a John Daly who travelled to Ohio prior to James, and he was born in Ireland ca. 1795-98. They lived together for a while 1833-1838 and then James moved when he married. John may have been the oldest brother of the 3, but I have no proof. John also died in 1843, just months prior to James' death. They were Catholic. All are buried in the USA.
