Below is the 1871 civil marriage index record for the Daniel Whelton/Catherine McCarthy marriage. You can get a copy of the record for around 4 euros from the General Register Office. The record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1871. Go to the link below and print out the appropriate form and mail to the GRO. Include the registration district and volume and page number.

In looking at the 1901 census record, it appears that all of the family were born in Clonakilty which is in Kilgarriff civil parish.I'm wondering if the Wheltons were from that area and moved to Kilnagross parish in the 1890s. There were no Wheltons in the 1852 Griffiths Valuation for Kilnagross parish. There was a Thomas Welton on Patrick Street in Clonakilty in the 1852 Griffiths for Kilgarriff parish.
