My great-great grandfather was Denis P Corkery. He married Teresa Young in the Catholic church in Kilworth on 18 June,1840. Witnesses were John Young and Joseph Dennehey. The Priest was Rev. William Cotter. His father was Edward Corkery and his mother was Mary Keith, but I have no information on them.
Dennis and Teresa had four children that I know of;
Edmond born in 1841 who died young
Mary Corkery was Baptised in the Catholic church in Kilworth on 03 Dec, 1848. Sponsors were Daniel Greene and Bridget Hennessey. The Priest was W Daly
Edmond Corkery born in 1851 and Baptised in the Catholic church in Mitchelstown on May 22, 1851
Richard Corkery born in Tipperery about 1848, maybe 1846

Dear Ron
Congratulations, you have already gathered a good deal of info about your Irish ancestors. With regard to the Tipperary aspect, do you have any idea where in the county Richard may have been baptised? I have been unable to find a record of Edward in the Tithe or Griffith's Valuation records in Kilworth.
Best wishes

Dear Clare;
I'm sorry, but I have no information on any of the Corkerys other than what I have sent - I keep searching records but have found very little. I did find some in Grifith's Valuation for Denis Corkery but was unable to verify that they were my Denis.
God Bless,
Ron

Hi Ron
That is one of the problems with the records. Sometimes it is very difficult if not impossible to say for sure which if any of those you find are your ancestor. All you can do is continue information gathering until such time as records become available to assist you or you manage to cross reference a sponsor or witness name. Have you tried searching Ancestry.com for any mention of your ancestor?s name in member family trees or messages?
Regards

Hello Clare;
I have a family tree on Ancestry.com - It is a public tree so you can look at it, I think. If not, let me know and I'll list you as a guest if you'd like I continue to search records and other family trees for information on my family and have been able to gather quite a bit of information - but not much for Ireland, unfortunately. I have also done online searches at the Mallow Center and Roots Ireland but the information is sketchy. The information from UK is quite good and I have found them in Birkenhead where my grandfather was born.
God Bless,
Ron

Morning Ron
The public trees are handy as it means there is always a chance someone will see it and make that connection.
Hope you manage to find the next missing piece

We are coming to Ireland in July to see if we can find anything - family from USA and UK will be staying in Fermoy and visiting Kilworth, Mitchelstown, Mallow , etc. Maybe we could meet you?
