My cousin and I have found records of our ancestors on the Irish Geneology page.

Our great great grandfather, John Murphy, Jr. was born in 1819 in Cork, Ireland.

His wife, Catherine Corcoran, was born in Kilmurry, Cork in January 1828.

John came to the USA in 1841 and Catherine in 1835. They were married in Boston, MA in 1846.

John's parents were John and Hanora Murphy. (we don't know Hanora's maiden

name). He was born about 1788 and Hanora in 1789. They both died here in Brown

County, Wisconsin in 1871 and 1873.

On Catherine's side- her mother was Ellen Crowley, born 1796 in Cork. We found

a baptism record which we think was her- from St. Finbarr's South, Cork dated

October 3, 1796.  We also have a record for her marriage to William Corcoran

(who was born about 1799 in Cork). We have a baptism record for him from

St. Finbarr's South dated February 2, 1799.

The marriage record is dated February 27, 1816 and it is from Kilmurry, Cork.

Farther down the line, my great grandmother Johannah Carolina Crowley

(who married William Murphy, son of John Murphy Jr) was born here,

but her parents were born in Ireland.  Her father Denis Crowley was

born October 14, 1830 in Cork. He arrived here in the states in 1852. His wife

Anna Golden was born October 10, 1838 and the place listed on her death notice

from 1882 lists her birth place as "Templebally, Ireland". So far we have not

located such a place.  Her parents were Peter Golden, born in Ireland in 1815

and her mother was Anna and her last name was either Mullen or Muller. She

was born in Ireland in 1811. We do have one record we found which is possibly

Peter Golden's. It is a
Ireland, Griffith’s Valuation, 1848-1864 record which shows him residing in
Sligo, Templeboy, Lugdoon  .  Could Templeboy be what they meant by
Templebally?

We want to find more about our ancestors and I hope by joining your group

we can find more about them.

Thank you so much!

Patty Murphy
