Hello..
I am researching my ggg grandparents Timothy Corbett and Catherine Sheehan who were born in or near Boherbue Cork Ireland . I found a record for the first daughter Ellen Miriam Corbett born in Rathmore with Novahal and Kilcummin, Kerry, Ireland . ..christened 26 February 1839.
Daughter Honora "Nora" Corbett christened 8 August 1841 at the Roman Catholic Church , Boherbue , Cork , Ireland .
Daughter Catherine Corbett christened 25 February 1844 at the Roman Catholic Church in Boherbue , Cork , Ireland .
Daughter Catherine Corbett born Jul-Aug-Sep 1850 Holborn, London, England .
1850 U. S. Census Holyoke Massachusetts USA
1851 England Census St. Luke's Parish, London , England
I am trying to find Timothy Corbett's parents and Catherine Sheehan's parents...and siblings if possible .
The younger Catherine Corbett married Francis East . ..and their daughter Mary Agnes East married Alfred Elsworth Figg . ..and they are my great grandparents . Catherine Corbett East died in 1899 in Louisville Kentucky USA.
Any suggestions and assistance is greatly appreciated !

I have been researching in both Rathmore and Boherbue . ..and I have found both baptism records and a few marriage records for both Corbett and Sheehan people .
Spousal names are Cronin...Sullivan . ..Fitzpatrick . ..and others.
In Rathmore . ..the priests name was J. O'Connell ...and the baptisms were between 1830 and 1842.
Any information about any of these families would be greatly appreciated .

Hi Karen, the townland of Lisheen is in the Civil Parish (taxation district) of Novaldaly
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~irlker/nohavald.htm
It might be worthwhile checking out the Corbett name in Griffiths Valuation which might give you some more information circa 1850. You can also check by townland. If Lisheen is your earliest record I'd check it first. I'm sorry I can't do it now but there appears to be work going on in the site right now.
Let me know if anything pops and I'll see if I can help some more.
Best wishes

Hi Martine,
Thanks so much for the information about Lisheen! I have been looking at the records there...lot's of family information about the witnesses and participants from several clans intermarrying and being witnesses and/or godparents at christenings.
Thanks again!
