The festival of Bealtaine or Beltane (held in May), marks the midway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, and heralds the start of Summer.

The Mitchelstown Bealtaine festival gives opportunities to age friendly cultural activities, celebrating culture, art and tour guiding activities during May.
As part of this year's festivalb Irish Family Search will conduct family history Tracing Talk at Mitchelstown Library on Friday May 24th at 11 am (Election Day).
