Bridget Fritzgerald and Henry Callaghan had 2 Sons, Thomas born approx 1815 and Henry born approx 1822 in Rathcormac County Cork, Ireland.

Henry Jnr (1822) was convicted at "Wilts Assizes" and sent out to Van Diemans Land (later known as Tasmania), Australia on the ship "Gilmore" departing 3-10-1838 and arriving 3-6-1839 travelling with 277 other convicts.  He was sentenced to serve 7years.

When completing his sentence he then travelled on the ship "The Swift" to Melbourne where he then continued to Geelong where he married Margaret O'Brien in 1854.

I would appreciate any information and help about the above members of my family.

Many Thanks

Gail

Roots Ireland has the baptismal records for Thomas (1815) and Henry (1822) in the RC records for Rathcormack but no other siblings. Marriage data does not begin until 1829 which is too late. I checked the 1833 Tithe listings for Rathcormack and there was a John and Denis Callaghan in Rathcormack parish but no Henry. There were 14 Callaghans in the 1852 Griffiths listing for Rathcormack but no Thomas, Henry or Bridget.
