These are my Great great grandparents. They left Muff in 1853 with 7 children on the Mary Ann.  Children were JAMES   15------ELIZABETH  13------GEORGE  11----JOHN  9------SARAH ANN  7--------THOMAS  5------ALEXANDER   9 months. They settled in New Brunswick, Canada.   ALEXANDER was my great grandfather.  I have some info about Elizabeth REIDS family.  Does anyone know anything about my G G Grandfather THOMAS KENNEDY. He was said to be from Belfast and was 40 years old  when they emigrated to Canada. Thank you for reading this and I so hope you might know about my Irish family.    Fond Regards, Sandy LaFerriere---Windham, Maine, 04062  USA

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Here is a link to the RC parish register ( I'm assuming Thomas and Elizabeth were RC) for St. Patrick's in Belfast. You may want to search the register for a baptismal record for Thomas Kennedy. However, without knowing the parents names, it will be difficult to confirm any record found. Possibly, he named his oldest son James after his father.

Do you know which church the couple were married? I did some quick checking and most of the RC churches in Co. Derry do not have records back to 1837-1838.

Thank you for your response Roger.  I really doubt that THOMAS was RC.  I see him listed as Presbyterian.  I can't find anything about his parents at all.  His wife was ELIZABETH REID.  I think she was from Lower Cumber. Thank you for the link. I will check there.

Hope you are having a great day.        Sandy Kennedy LaFerriere
