Hi,i am hoping to find descendents of my grandmother who was the district nurse for Newcastle long ago between about 1906 and 1924 when she died.

She was married to Bill O'Flaherty who died about 1940. They had one son named Billy who was born there about 1906.

All I know about Billy is that his young wife died in the 1930's  and that he played music in a band and tuned pianos.

He was a young widower and might have married again and have family still in the area.I would love to know what happened to him.

    Hi,

Thank you very much for your message and for sharing this lovely photograph!

I hope that someone who knows of the family makes a connection with you and is able to give you some information.

Perhaps as Bill and Margaret were living in the area so recently it may be an idea to also post this message in a more local forum such as a newsletter or a newspaper in the hope that someone who remembers the family or is connected to it contacts you.

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,

    Genealogy Support
