Hi - I'm doing my family tree and have got as far as Michael McSheffrey born 1823 Culdaff - married to Margery McLaughlin born 1825.  I have the descendants info and am looking for info on Michael's parents, grandparents etc.  I am ok so far on Margery's side.

    I'm going to assume that your ancestors were RC. The records for Culdaff RC parish start in 1838 so baptismal records for Michael and Margery won't be available..

    The 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for the parish shows a Michael McSheffry in Carthage townland. Possibly this is your relative. There are many McLoughlins in the parish.
