I am looking for my birth father (unmarried) called James McCarthy from Donegal. He came looking for me when I was around 15 but my brother would not tell him where I was. I was born in Liverpool in 1968 and he worked with Joe McNulty 9(rom Sligo), whom I have known for 50 years. Joe told me that he was skilled building underground brickwork/tunnels. I am not sure the family know I exist. There were two births, both female, but my sister was stillborn. Any help would be appreciated. I believe he has probably now died, but it would be good to at least see a photograph of him and the family.

Hello, James, I am sure a moderator will be in...but to add my 2 cents as a volunteer search angel...Have you done DNA? My recommendation do Ancestry (they have the largest database) then upload your raw DNA data to other sites free (FTDNA, MyHeritage and finally GEDmatch) Here you may find DNA matches to close family and easily find your BIO Father. I don't think I can help you with McCarthy or McNulty.
I was from Liverpool but have been in Australia since 1965.
I am a Higgins.
I was searching on the Donegal site for Mooney and Slye which I have now found.
I agree with the message from Suz139.
I did the Ancestry DNA test and found my Higgins in Mayo.
