James McGee born abt. 1808 presumed from Crossroads, Falacarragh, died East Mauch Chuck, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 16, 1893 at age 85, married to Eunice (Unity) McGinley born abt.1821 Gortahork,Tullaghobegley, daughter of Dominic and Grace McGinley. died East Mauch Chuck Pennsylvania USA March 20, 1882, age 63.
I have inquired at the church in Gortahork, regarding baptism records or a marriage record. They do not have anything. I went to Pennsylvania last week, but was unable to get a marriage or a baptism record for their first child Rose who was born Oct 6 1847, James born July 12, 1849, Grace June 30, 1851, John Sept 10, 1853, Hugh abt 1858,Mary Oct.1859.
In the cemetery in East Mauch Chuck, the grave next to Eunice is a Dennis McGee, erected by his brother John. The stone is the same as Eunice and that makes me think that there is a connection.
I do not know if James and Eunice married in the US or Ireland. I have not found immigration or naturallization papers that I can be sure of and I do not know if they came with other family members.
I was in Gortahork in May 2015 and will be back in Nov 2016 Very interested in expanding the information of both of them regarding parents and siblings. A number of their great grandchildren have done DNA tests with www.23andme.com and are on www.gedmatch.com
I would like to discover relatives and the place where they actual lands that they lived.
Thank you

Mary:
Welcome back!
The Gortahork records start in November 1849 for baptisms and deaths. Marriages start in 1861.

We do have a parish liaison in that area so I will send him a message to alert him to your message.
