The Logues, James, b.1780 & Nancy, b.1785, m.1801. emigrated to Scotland about 1820 and then emigrated to New Brunswick.  Their daughter, Nancy, b.1813, married Peter Kearney, b. 1815 in Ireland. They were married in 1841 in Bathurst, New Brunswick.  Nancy had a brother, John, b. 1802 in Ireland.  There were Logues & Kearneys in the Donegal Parish.  Can anyone help me trace these families?  I am 88 years young and would like to meet my Irish cousins one day soon!

  • Dear Griff:

Welcome to the Ireland Reaching Out message board!

Do you have any other information about the Logue family?  It doesn't appear that there are baptism records in County Donegal back that far that are available, unfortunately.

You might consider looking at where the Logue name is most numerous.  From John Grenham's website, it would appear that both surnames are prevalent in Counties Donegal, Derry, Meath and Tyrone.

The link to that page is below:

The Logue surname appears in the Roots Ireland database but there are no matching entries for a Nancy (or Anne) b 1813 or a brother John born 1802 in Ireland.

Hopefully there may be someone who sees your post and will be able to assist.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

    Kind regards,

    Jane.
