The people I may be related to can be found here:

I am seeking descendants who can provide information one or two generations earlier so as to determine if I am related.
My direct ancestor can be found here:
http://culbert.one-name.net/getperson.php?personID=I00162&tree=Culbert
Unfortunately, I've never found any 19th Century Culberts in Letterkeny, so suspect my Culberts lived nearby rather in the town.

Dear Jim:
Many thanks for your post to the message board of Ireland Reaching Out and welcome!
If you are interested, it may be worth posting on the Ireland Reaching Out Chronicles page about your direct ancestor, Moses Culbert. You can do that through the XO Chronicles tab at the top of this page.
The very best of luck with your research!
Kind regards,
Jane.

Jim:
In addition, you can access the parish registers for Letterkenny if you would like to search through them for Cul. berts.
They are available through the link below:

All the best
Jane.

These are Catholic Registers, and my Culbert ancestors appear to have been Presbyterian. Also, they only span brief periods during the latter half of the 1800s, whereas my Culberts were there in the later 1700s to early 1800s.

Dear Jim:
Thanks for the information that you have given.
It is much more difficult to try to trace before 1800 due to loss/destruction of records or records not having been done.
However, you might find the PRONI website of some assistance. The link is below and they have a large database of online resources that you might consider looking at.
http://www.proni.gov.uk. They hold most of the Presbyterian Church records in Northern Ireland including some of the border counties.
I see that Kilmacrenan had 2 households with Culberts in the Griffith's Valuation.

I hope that the above is of some assistance. The best of luck with your research.
Kind regards,
Jane.
