I am trying to trace my fathers birth place
He was born in 1871 emigrated to Baltimore USA for a while was known as James {Hudie or Hudy}
McLaughlin came back to Donegal where he married Mary Ann Glackin of Ballygorman in 1904
then lived on Inisrall Island until they returned to the mainland in 1928
Any information would be appreciatrd

The 1911 census for the family is below. I checked the civil birth index records and there were three James McLaughlins born in 1871 in the Inishowen registration district. I can send you the index records if you would like. You could then contact the General Register Office to get a copy of the correct record. You would need to give them parents names or have them check if one of them was born on Inishtrahuil Island. Let me know.
