Hello,

This is a general message addressed to the entire Ireland XO site but apparently messages can only be sent to specific Parishes so I have randomly chosen Donegal and am hopeful that the message will go out to the entire site.

I recently received results of Y-DNA testing sent to an online testing company. Y-DNA analysis tests for paternal lineage exclusively and his handed down from father to son throughout generations. Excluding anomalies (ie, adoption, illegitimate child etc.) the technology can trace back many thousands of years and identify the specific haplogroup for a given surname. It can also locate the approximate geographical origins for the same.

I see, or am unable to locate at least, that there is no public or special group within Ireland XO that addresses these interests. My apologies if I have overlooked any existing groups. Any more info or further interest in starting such a group would be appreciated.

Thank You,

Seeker
