My brother, Richard, and I, Phillip Alexander (both of Fayetteville, Arkansas, U.S.A.), will visit Raphoe from 10-12 July 2023.

Our 8x great-grandfather was William Alexander (b abt. 1620 in Raphoe; d. abt. 1688 in Raphoe) of Raphoe. He was the father of the "infamous Nine," otherwise known as the "7 brothers and 2 sisters," all of whom were born in Raphoe and emigrated en masse to Cecil Co., Maryland, U.S.A., in 1673.

William's father is believed to have been John Alexander (b. abt. 1600 in Ayshire, Scotland; d. unknown.), who likely emigrated to Raphoe before William's birth.

We are direct, patrilineal descendants of Samuel Alexander, one of the 7 brothers, and thus, of course, of William and John too.

We would love to be met by someone of your group, introduced to Raphoe by a native, and, if possible, pointed to any places where we might find genealogical records (church records, tax records, muster rolls, etc.) regarding William, John, or any of the 7+2.

Would anyone interested in aiding us in our adventure in Raphoe please reply to this message or contact me directly at: alxfyv@gmail.com?

With kind regards and many thanks for your interest,

Phillip Alexander
