Looking to establish the origins of Charles William Lutton from Northern Ireland, who sailed from Greenock, Scotland in September 1843 with his family for Australia.  He was a protestant that married a Roman Catholic, Margaret McBride, somewhere around 1833.  The ship's records indicate he was then 33 years of age and came from County Down, possibly the Parish of Drumbo.  Margaret McBride came from County Antrim.

It is suspected that he had a younger brother, Andrew James Lutton, a wealthy landowner in Portadown, County Armagh, and that married Sarah Porter in 1847.  They were married in the Parish of Seagoe.  Both the men's parents are recorded as a John and Sarah Lutton.  Andrew James Lutton died in 1870 and at one time owned a linen factory in Edenderry.
