My ancestor Hugh Doyle (b. 1810) is thought to be born in the Kilkeel area. DNA testing has found links between Hugh Doyle's American descendants and Kilkeel descendants. Some3 other names that have surfaced are Ballance and Cousins. Hugh married Dorcas (Claxton) who was also born in Ireland around 1811. They were married about 1836 and settled in Albany, NY. I have found some Claxtons living in the neighboring parish of Kilbroney at the same time point which may confirm Dorcas' Claxton surname. If anyone else is researching this family, I would be glad to share the little bit that I have found thus far.
