There is a baptism for an Elizabeth Southwell Dillon , her date of birth was the 26th December 1862 and she was baptised on the 15th February 1863 in Magheralin, parents Anthony Dillon mothers name is only listed as Blair

Also a daughter Ellen born 3 August 1853 in Magheralin, this time her mothers full name is listed as Ellen Blair and father Anthony is recorded as manufacturer

Also a son Robert Edwin born 30 July 1857 in Magheralin, and a daughter Mary Jane born 13 July 1860 in Magheralin

Hi Mallow, Yes this is the family I am looking for.  I have most of this information, thankyou.  But am trying to find Anthony and Ellen childen's family.  There marriages etc.  Just can't seem to find anything.  Elizabeth Southwell Dillon I think married Samuel Maguire and their daughter is Ellen and she pops up in 1901 cenus living with her grandparent.  Am trying to find if I am correct and why Ellen is with her grandparent and after that she disappears.  I am coming out to Ireland in about 4 weeks and would love to try and make connact with some family. Hi there, I am a great grandchild of Annie Dillon (m. David Kirkwood) and have been researching the family tree. Anthony Dillon junior (son of Anthony Dillon and Isabella Dixon) married Ellen Blair and had Ellen, Robert Edwin and Alfred (who all died under the age of five) and Elizabeth Southwell, Mary Jane, Emma Isabella and Annie who all survived to adulthood. Elizabeth marries Samuel Maguire, have (Elizabeth) Ellen and they both seem to die a couple of years later, their child Ellen is with her grandparents in the 1901 census. Mary Jane possibly marries Samuel Beattie and has Joseph Alfred but also dies before the 1901 census. In the 1911 census, Anthony states that they had 7 children and 2 are surviving - these are Emma and Annie. Emma married Alexander Humphries and moved to Dumbarton Scotland. Her daughter, Emma, used to come and visit when I was a child. Annie died leaving a large family of boys and one girl. Many of the descendants still live in Northern Ireland and abroad, however my Mum is the last survivng grandchild of Anthony Dillon junior as far as I know. I have researched the New Zealand connection and cannot seem to find out what happens to Mary Jane Dillon (who moved to NZ with her brother Patrick, (m. James Norton HM Customs). They have a stillborn child and then James appears to drown getting off a ferry at Thames in the 1870s? Then no leads. Any more information would be great. Thanks.

Hi, My ancester is Isaballa Dillon, Anthony Dillon jr sister.  Do you have much more information about Anthony snr and Isabella.  I see you have her maiden name as Dixon, is that correct as haven't been able to find anything about either of them.  I actually visited Magheralin Village this June gone.  Was hoping to find out about more about them.  I will look abit more into Mary Jane for you as I am in New Zealand.  I think she might of re married but will have a good dig around.  I have one contact with a decendant of Patricks also, here in New Zealand.  When I was over I went to the parish and got a few more family member from the births, deaths and marriages. Good to hear from you, please keep in touch and any information that you have would be great.  I have a tree on ancestry if you are on there.  I had Emma and Robert going to Canada, is this correct.  As found that Robert died in Scotland but can't find what happened to Emma. Hi there, Emma Humphries (daughter of Emma Dillon and Alexander Humphries) remained in Dumbarton and nevier married. She often visited family in Northern Ireland. Yes her siblings went to Australia and Canada. Anthony jr and Ellens' first daughter, Ellen died aged 5 day or so, their son Robert Edwin died age 5 years as, sadly, did their youngest son Alfred. I would be really intersted in any more information you have found out about the family when you visited. Unfortunaltely, I don't have any more information on Anthony senior and Isabella, although I am quite certain that her surname was Dixon/Dickson. Have you been able to find out anything about Anthony's (jr) sister Harriet (born 1831) who married John McKee (born 1829)? They married in 1857 and had Thomas Edmond (b. 1864) and William Henry (born 1869) in Moira/Magheralin. Then they disappear - maybe they went to America? Any further info would be great. Girasol.

Hi Girasol, Great hear from you again. Here is my email address mcnaughtonkym@gmail.com.  All I got when I visited was a few births and deaths from the parish records.  I think you might have them. But happy to share.  Thought I might of found something abour Mary Jane Norton, thought she might of re married so I ordered a marriage certificate but it wasnt her.  Can't find a death for her here in NZ.  But will keep looking.  Where are you?  Yes Harriet and John went to the states, found them through Ancestry.  Give me you email address and I can give you premission to look at my ancestry site and you can see what I have done and then maybe we can see if we have the correct information.
