James Gould of Moygannon & Rachel Mercer of Ballygunahan married at Warringstown Church of Ireland on November 23, 1866.

Father's names were listed as John Gould, a Labourer of Moygannon & William Mercer, a Labourer of Ballygunahan. No mothers were named.

James is listed as deceased on son's marriage record in 1891. Rachel remarried a man named John Dowds at Banbridge, Seapatrick Church of Ireland in June 1895. She is shown as a widow on the 1911 census living on Reilly Street in Banbridge, with her daughter Rachel Gould Molloy, also a widow. The census shows Rachel as born about 1842. She was listed as next of kin by her son in 1919 still at Reilly Street.

James & Rachel had the following children:

Thomas John Gould; b:November 17, 1867 at Dromore, d:March 23, 1918 at Proziers, France. He Married Anne Wilson Brown on June 15, 1891 in Glasgow, Scotland. They had 4 sons: John, Alec, Andrew & George (my Grandfather).

Michael Shanks Gould; b:March 31, 1871 at Waringstown, d:unknown. He married Hannah Walker in about 1900. They had 3 living children in the 1911 census: William Robert; b:1901, Margaret; b:1903, Alexander; b:Sept 1906. Shown as living on a farm in Magheralin Parish on 1901 & 1911 census.

Jane Eliza Gould; b:September 1, 1871 at Waringstown, d:unknown. It is beleived she never married. She was listed as a border to the Craig Family in Banbridge in 1911, and at the same address when she signed the Ulster Covanent in 1912.

Rachel Gould; b: May 6, 1874 at Waringstown, d:unknown. She married John Molloy in Banbridge in 1895. Widowed by the 1911 census. No known children.

William James Gould; b:June 13, 1876 at Waringstown, d:after 1922. He married Florence Fleming on April 1, 1907 and they emegrated to Erie, PA USA in 1910. He was a vetran of WWI and according to war records he returned to Banbridge before his vitory medal was mailed to him in 1922. Florence died in Erie in 1918. No known children.

Robert S Gould; b;September 26, 1879 at Waringstown, d: November 17, 1951 at Erie, PA USA. He married Margaret Dickson abt 1904 at Banbridge. They had 5 sons; James, William, John, Robert & Norman. They emigrated to Erie, PA USA in 1909. Sone James born in Ireland, remaing boys born in USA.

I am hoping to connect with and decsendants of Micheal and Hannah who I pressume stayed in Co. Down, or Robert and Margaret who remained in PA.

I am hoping to find ancestors of James Gould and Rachel Mercer.

    Perhaps you could also try placing a message in a more local forum. As some of the dates you have mentioned were in the 20th century there is a chance that there are still people in the area who may recognise the families Some possible place you could do this are:
