Hi...I am trying to locate a birth record for my grandfather, Patrick Joseph Kiely born March 11, 1876 to Jeremiah (Jerome)Kiely and Margaret Hennessy Kiely.  The little information I have is a birth notation for one of Patrick's older sisters...Kate Kiely.  I do not have the year, however the birth notation is as follows...Kate Kiely, Balrothery, Ireland, Vol. 17, Pg. 417, Film #101045.  She was probably born around 1868, but that is an estimate. I have been trying to find this record for two years to no avail.  I would GREATLY appreciate any help anyone can render!  Peggy Capozzi

    www.rootsireland.ie has a record of Patrick Kiely born 1876 in Limerick.

    Mother's surname is Hennessy.

    The good news is that there is a record of the marriage of Jeremiah Kiely to Margaret Hennessy in Limerick in 1858 so it looks like Patrick's record is the right one.

    rootsireland is a pay site but has 40% off at the moment and after a two year search...

    Regarding Kate Kiely, the film number 101045 refers to the Mormon Family History film numering system. #101045 contains the index of Irish births for 1868. It would appear that Kate is recorded in Volume 17 page 417. If you can't get the record from rootsireland.ie then you could write to the GRO www.groireland.ie and get a copy of the record for around 4 euros. Fill out their form and provide the year, registration district (probably Dublin North or South) and the volume and page number.
