Looking to know if any descendants of the Fottrell - Cadwell or Fottrell family still live in Clontarf . I am in touch with a descendant of the Fottrell-Power family who now lives in Philadelphia USA and is hoping to visit Ireland next year and would love to meet relatives in Clontarf.
His connection is: Mary Fottrell who married James J Power (both from Seaview Avenue, Clontarf) - they emigrated to USA about 1906.
I would appreciate any help/feedback.
Many thanks
Anne

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_re… November 25th 1914 I saw this record of a marriage between a Hugh Fottrell and a Sarah Fottrell both from Clontarf. Hugh's father is also Hugh , the same as Mary Fottrell's, so may be a brother. Sarah Fottrell's father is Christopher Fottrell, so may be another connection.
Another marriage of interest 11/1/1903 Marriage of George Cadwell ( son of Peter Cadwell) and Maggie Fottrell (daughter of Hugh Fottrell) Seaview Avenue Clontarf.

Dear Eileen
Thank you for your reply - I have all those records recorded on our family tree, as does my relative in the USA.
They are indeed all the same Fottrell family.
I was just wondering if anyone might know if any of this family still live in/near Clontarf?
kind regards
Anne

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=406971.0 I came across this discussion about a Thomas Cadwell and the Cadwell family on RootsChat.com which is a free chat site, the conversation dates from August 2009 pages 1-9 including a photo on page 7 of a Cadwell family group dated 14/7/1943. You can register to join RootsChat and I hope you can see this thread as it mentions various Cadwell brothers including George, Edward, Thomas, Simon etc perhaps you can recognise or identify members of the extended family but it is interesting and also tragic for the family. As to whether any members of the family still live in Clontarf, I do not know but you could write or email the Joe Duffy show called Liveline which is a daily radio show with great listener appeal and ask if he would put out an appeal to descendant's of the family to make contact, this has worked before for other folk. The contact details are
Liveline - RTÉ Radio 1

Alternatively you can ring us on 01 208 3263 or write to us at the following address: Liveline with Joe Duffy, RTE Radio Centre, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
