    Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!

Very touching letter. Reminds me of the multiple letters between a father in Mayo and his son in America. A famous song was written about the family letters. http://www.mayo-ireland.ie/en/towns-villages/kilkelly/history/kilkelly-…

I tried looking for the Michael and Johanna in the 1901 census. There were two Walsh households in Knockmahon but not your couple but likely relatives. I also looked for civil death index records in the Kilmacthomas registration district. There were too many Michael Walsh records. i did find a possible index record for Johanna. (see below).

Also, tomorrow the National Library of Ireland is placing all RC parish registers online for free searching. The RC parish for the Walsh family would be Kill which is in the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore. You may want to review the register for records for your family.
