i am his great grandson, he is buried in botany cemetry, sydney, nsw, australia.

i have seen his grave.

from family research inside family: he claimed to be one of the invincibles that assasinated lord cavendish.

he claimed to be a look out in the team. he was about 15 years at that time.

he arrived australia around 1850, i suspect the ship the "tantivy".

relatives say he was scared to apply for old age pension, as he was wanted for the crime,

he eventually he got his irish birth certificate and applied and was given australian pension

on his death certificate is recorded father michael nolan and mother julia dunn, kinsale, cork.

this is all i know, except i found a cencus record of michael and julia nolan in an england cencus,

but i lost this record 25 years ago on my marriage breakup my exwife destroyed my research.

i am 66 years now a very fit and healthy looking to find connection with family in ireland.

that connection is one of my mothers grandfathers, my other two connections are:

mary mckenna a great grandmother of my father and

david hartnett a great grandfather of my father

david was from cork and was arrested in an azzisis and sent to australia,

i have his court case in ireland and know the ship he arrived in australia,

ialso know the ship mary arrived in australia as a free settler, she was 20 years when she married david 40years.

hoping to contact with irish family or researcher who is keen.

walter harold james smith

named after my father and both grandfathers, as i looked like all three, so i must look irish

  • Do you remember in your Nolan research if your family had a member, Patrick Isaac Nolan, leave Ireland about 18-20 years old and disappear... He was a stowaway on a ship to the United States and left his family behind, never returning to Ireland and never speaking to them again... I'm searching for his parents and family... Family story he was born in Galway about 1827.
