Barnwell and Downes

Thanks Pat, i will try the links you suggest. I have just started on this family and seem to have hit a blank wall already. Thomas is presumed to have been born around 1832 but i can't find birth, death or census records for him. Regards GMcC :)

The marriage record for Thomas Barnwell & Mary Stacy Downes Registration District Dublin South Volume 5 Page 366 Year 1854.

www.groireland.ie where you can obtain a photocopy of the cert for 4€ giving the above information. Rgds Frances

There is a birth registered for a Clara Barnwell with father Thomas Barnwell & Mother Mary Downes Born 17th July 1867. Registration district Dublin North Vol 12, P 513.

Not sure if this is same family as it is a big gap from the marriage in 1854!!!!

Many thanks for that assistance, I will certainly order the certificate and hopefully find Thomas' parents. Clara in 1867 could be their child as it appears they had Mary around 1859, and Susan in 1874. Obviously will have to be checked.
