Hello!
I'm wondering if anyone here can help me with finding information about a Joseph Dolan? He's my Grandad's brother, and I'm currently trying to do a family tree. I know that he was older than my Grandad, who was born in 1954 in Dublin. I think that Joseph would have been born in Dublin too, based on that. As far as I'm aware he was fully biological siblings with my grandfather, meaning his mother would have been Philomeena Dolan, (or possibly Moore, as that was her maiden name), and his father would have been William/Billy Dolan. My grandad is William Dolan, and they also had a sister called Frances Dolan. My grandad knows he had the middle name Thomas and thinks it may have been followed by Dominic - Joseph Thomas Dominic Dolan. They moved to England when my grandad was young, and Joseph should have died around ten years ago, but I can find no records of him anywhere! :(
Please help if possible!

Hi Summer
I've had a good look for Joseph but couldn't find him on www.rootsireland.ie/, www.irishgenealogy.ie/ or familysearch.org
However I searched family search for any children with Mother last name Moore and got 7 matches:
William A 1954 Male Dolan 1955 (maybe Joseph?) Bernadette T 1956 Mary M 1956 Caroline M 1957 Frances B 1957 Anne T 1957
I wondered how Philomeena could have had children in the same year (unless they were twins) but noticed that William Bernadette & Frances were registered in Dublin North but the others were Dublin South so that blows the theory of Male being Joseph I guess!

Hi my Name is Anna Corrigan and my mother was Bridget Dolan from Galway. Did you ever think of doing a DNA test with
ancestry.com. I joined and found a lot of 3rd cousins and more distant relative. Perhaps we could be related. What peeked
my interest in your query was my Mother had a child in 1950 named William Dolan born outside wedlock who is at the centre
of the Tuam Babies scandal.
Kind regard

There were three children, William 1954 October/Dec ref. Vol 2 page 466 Dublin North, Bernadette,1956, Jan./March ref.
Vol 2 page 438 Dublin North. and Frances 1957 Jan/March vol.2 page 575 Dublin North all with mothers maiden name Moore
could not find a Marriage between 1940 and 1950 of a W.Dolan to a Philomena Moore. You can get these birth certificates at any public record office or on line , Id get one and check if its right it should give you an address and chech the local church for a Baptisimal record and hopefull Joseps birth. If Joseph lived in Dublin he might be on a Voters record. Mest myles Brady
