I am looking for information on John Kearney son of Dennis Kearney & Elizabeth Delany and Father of Edward Kearney. They were in St Michael's and St John's parish of Dublin.John emigrated to Canada in 1830. A shoemaker by trade he was born 12 Jul 1796 and Enlisted in the military at age 16 and served until 22, in 1819.

If anyone has any information on this family, I would really appreciate it.

My great grandmother was Rose Kearney and this would be her grandfather.

  • Hi Hector,  I assume you have looked at the Baptism entry,as it is as you say 12/7/1796 ssMich and John, its a big call for someone to know that their ggg father had a brother named John, he could have been an only child, Im only making an observation but as you have the ability to turn up that record, maybe you could look to see if he had siblings. Best of luck   Searcher

  • Hi Hector,I looked at the entry for St.Michaels and Johns it shows the birth of John Kearney Baptised 12-7-1896 to Denis and Elizabeth Delany, it also shows another John Baptised 7-2-1795 (He could have died)  also there is A Thomas Baptised 8-2-1797 same parents, no sign of the Marriage there but a Michael Kearney Married Elizabeth Delany on 2=5-1792 at St Andrews Westland Row RC Church            Best, Searcher
