I will be in Wexford Town researching my Kirwan, Cloak, Power, and Hogan lines from the diocese of Ferns from April 21-23 and in the vicinity of Cashel, County Tipperary looking into my Daniel Ryan (born about 1795) and Mary Lahey ancestors from the townland of Sergeant's Lot, parish of Golden and Kilfeacle, from April 24-25. This will be my first visit to Ireland and would love to connect with other genealogists and distant cousins (if I can find them!) Thanks!

  • Safe travels and good luck.

Not directly connected, but if you stumble across any Hopkins connections and have time to take notes I would appreciate anything you could forward.

Bridget Hogan c1809 of Co. Wicklow married Archibald EDGE at Carnew Aug 2 1835.   Suspect that they went to Canada and that he died shortly thereafter.

  • Hi Michael:

I have forwarded your query to someone in County Tipperary who may be able to assist you with the Cashel portion.

However, you might also want to take a look at the Wexford County Archives website which has a large collection of archive material.  The link is here:

If you see something of interest, I would recommend that you email them before your visit so that they can have a look at possible relevant materials.

Please contact me if you need further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Jane Halloran Ryan
