My great grandmother apparently was a well known soprano in Dublin in the 1870s and 1880s.  She went by the name Miss Essie Lynar.  Found in newspaper advertisments.

I am looking for any other records of her family.  I know she married my great grandfather (Mathew Keane of Limerick) around 1878 - 1880 maybe.  I cannot find her records online.  She also had two daughters Katherine and Elizabeth Keane both born in Rathmines Dublin. They immigrated to New York in 1893.

I found her father Thomas Lynar on a Griffiths evaluation.

  • I looked for the couples marriage anywhere in Ireland  but did not find it.

Rathmines is in Dublin South Registration district. I looked for the 2 childrens births. 2 Elizabeths born Oct – Dec 1879 and Jan – Mar 1885, both in Dub South. Saw 3 Elizabeths in Dub South Apr – Jun 1883; Jul-Sept 1890 & Jul – Sept 1892.

Thank you for your reply. I do have information on Essie's daughters Elizabeth and Esther.  I cannot find any info on her marriage to Mathew Keane as well.  Other than the articles about her singing appearances I cannot find records on Esther Lynar/Keane herself. Would love to find information on her parents. as well as her marriage.
