I have been trying to track down information on a Robert BOWEN that married a Mary (Margaret) QUINN @ Rathfarnham in the RC Parish area on 24 January 1848.  Quinn was actually spelt KEIRN on the record. Mary's mother Judith QUINN (nee CANNON) sponsored her daughter and family out to Tasmania, arriving on the Sir WF Williams on 2 February 1856, with their 3 children, Julia aged 8, Betsy aged 6 and Mary Ann aged 3.  I have been trying to locate some evidence of the children's births/baptisms and have found nothing so far.  Robert BOWEN also took his sisters, Eliza (aged abt 19) and Annie (abt 15) with the family out to Tasmania as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Gayle

  • Dear Gayle

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Can I ask what avenues you have already checked in relation to the Bowen children? I assume you have already looked at rootsireland.ie and irishgenealogy.ie at this point?

    Best wishes
