Period Costume Workshops
Running at 2.30 and 4pm. Laura Thorpe will be in the castle for the afternoon, running workshops and open discussions on the progression of fashion in the 18th and early 19th centuries. She will discuss clothing for men, women and children of both upper and poorer class and how it correlates with events and society at the time. Laura will exhibit examples of reproduction costumes, fashion plates and portraits.
Audience participation will be encouraged with opportunities to take photos while dressed in period costume. Feel free to take part and come dressed in costume!
Games – running throughout the afternoon, Maura Williams will organise games and activities for all ages some of which will be remembered from years-gone-by!
Family Quiz- take part in the our Family Quiz and be in with a chance to win a Family Heritage Card valued at €60. This card will give you and your family unlimited admission to all Heritage Sites managed by the OPW for one year from the date of first use. The draw will take place on Sunday 28th at 5.50pm and the winner will be notified immediately.

Ruby of Elsinore
The Portumna Players will perform a short play called “Ruby of Elsinore”. Proceeded by, popular songs with Nicola and Eimear Walsh. Limited seating.
